Return to sender. Or at the very least the recipient for crying out loud!!
Here is my email that I sent to Canada Post just a few short moments ago. I was going to write them a letter, but did not feel confident in their ability to deliver it. Zing! I think it is a pretty good piece of writing, but that may be the 3hrs of sleep talking. The non-delivery of my package today just sent me over the edge, as it was the perfect end to one of the worst days I have had in a long time. Keep in mind that I was in a car accident requiring a plate to be put in my arm not too long ago, and today seemed worse than that. It wasn’t, but it seemed like it was. No one was handing out morphine to me today though, so maybe that was the difference. Anyhow, I will let you be the judge of the email’s quality. Please note, there may be some sarcasm included in the email… just a bit though. And if someone says it should be “e-mail” not “email” I am going to go postal (pun intended). I do not have the energy to add all those extra hyphens… although I did find the energy to write a couple of sentences about not having the energy to add hyphens. I am a strange creature, I know. OK, OK!! I will shut up now! And now for our featured presentation…..
“Can someone competent please contact me ASAP at the phone number I provided (XXX-XXX-XXXX). I have 2 items lost in the postal system somewhere and it is getting beyond ridiculous. I request that hopefully a supervisor will contact me, or someone with a direct line that I can call, as I do not want to have to wait on the line and go through punching in a bunch of numbers in the menus like I have had to do so many times this past month, just to be lost in voicemail hell and having to call back and go through it all again.
I shipped an item on September 28th from Ottawa, ON to Sarnia, ON using Xpresspost and it is now October 30th and it still has not be delivered. A 2-3 day delivery has been bungled into more than 30 days, and somehow the package has made it’s way to London, ON. No one knows where it is in London, or why it was even sent to there after it was already in Sarnia at the beginning of October. The tracking # for that item is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and I have an open case on file for this item, which is XXXXXXXX.
In what I thought was a one time deal, I put my trust in the postal system yet again last week. A package was supposed to be shipped from Brossard, QC to me in Ottawa, ON. A 2 hour drive at most, and according to the Xpresspost tracker, a 1 day delivery. The item was shipped on Friday and it did arrive in Ottawa by Monday (today). Kudos for getting that part right this time. Taking a look at the online tracking tool, it now says “Item successfully delivered to Receiver”, which is a lie. We received 3 other parcels today at the house, none of which were the package I was expecting. My neighbors do not have the parcel, nor was I left a delivery notice slip. So, where is my parcel I ask? The tracking number for this lost item is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.
I certainly hope this one is solved within a month, unlike my other outstanding package that has vanished into the ether somewhere. Batting 0 for 2 in my parcel deliveries this month is unacceptable. I am expecting another parcel to be delivered to me from Toronto sometime this week as well, and I am honestly crossing my fingers that it gets here. Even if it does get here without issue that is still only 1 out of 3.
Needless to say, I will be requesting my delivery charges back from my first package that has been in limbo for a month, and I will be recommending the shipper of this latest debacle to do the same if it is not resolved quickly. The inability of not being able to deliver or receive a package looks poorly upon me, which I have had no control over.
I apologize for the rant, but I am very close to my wits end. Most of my words will probably be ignored or fall on deaf ears, but I hope not. Can someone who can actually assist me with these matters please contact me as soon as possible. I am tired of the runaround I have received already. Not to mention that your helpline is only open from 8am-6pm, which is just fantastic for people like myself who don’t follow a 9-5 work schedule. I would try to call from work if I got a free moment, but the item that I have not received is a cell phone to replace my broken one.
Regretfully yours,
<My Name>”
