I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane!
Well, first a train, then the tube, then a jet plane!
Cindy and I got packed this morning and, if I do say so myself, we did a cracking job! Even though we have to bring a lot of winter stuff with us, we each only have a large backpack and a small suitcase with room to spare to bring stuff back with us. We have a couple of things on our “wish list” to get when home as they will be cheaper, and so we need to have some spare room on the way there. This is not the norm for us as we usually take large suitcases and don’t have enough room.
We hop on the train tomorrow morning around 11:30am (it is a 10 minute walk from home to the train station) and get into London around 3:00pm. We plan on checking into our hotel and then heading out to see the Christmas sites around town. We are then going to meet Cindy’s friend, Kathy, for dinner and then see where the evening brings us. I wouldn’t mind checking out The Eye, or the Tate Modern Art Museum. London again! Woohoo!
Our flight home to Ottawa is then the next day at 1:00pm or so, getting into Ottawa around 3:45pm. We will probably head to Heathrow early to check-in and to try to get a complimentary upgrade to 1st Class. It appears that there is plenty of room in 1st Class on the flight and it is the new style cabin that looks like this. It never hurts to ask for an upgrade, the worst they can do is say no. Then once I have finished begging for the upgrade it is off to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge to relax and grab some lunch, and maybe some free booze! Traveling is so much better when using first class lounges and should be the only way to go.
Well, I am going to end it here and watch some football (soccer) once Cindy is done with the Wii Fit. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at home!
