All up in my grill!
I managed to pull myself away from the poker long enough to keep my promise of posting today. I was getting sick of all the donks bad beating me anyways, so it is a welcomed hiatus. I had some motivation calling me in the fridge as well – lamb that I picked up at the butcher’s yesterday. The last time I got some lamb it was so tender, juicy and tasty, and this time it was more of the same. I didn’t do anything fancy with it, just some olive oil and spice rub, letting the taste of the meat do it’s thing. Thirty minutes later and out the oven and we were ready to roll, with the spiced potatoes and salad on the side.
Now that I have figured out the lamb in the oven, the next step will be to learn how to do it on our new BBQ. Well, once we get it that is – after Dublin in March. I was looking around and stumbled upon the Weber One Touch Silver and have fallen in love (shhh, don’t tell Cindy!) After reading all the reviews, everyone says that food tastes better with charcoal and at £80 I think it is a bargain. As well, it will fit our lifestyle better than a propane BBQ since we don’t have a propane station near our place, nor a car, and so filling up a tank is a little impractical for us. Sure, you have to plan a bit more so that the charcoal has thirty minutes to get hot, but that just gives you time to for a beer to warm you up along with it. And just look at it – it is gorgeous! Now that the spring weather is here I am getting BBQitis and I am really looking forward to sitting on the patio in the garden with the smell of searing animal flesh wafting in the air.
