C is for Cookie!
I lied! I said that I would be back yesterday with a post, but alas I got sidetracked and didn’t get to making one, and I have lots of stuff I want to write about to boot. The reason for my delinquency is that I have started playing some online poker again. I found a couple of free bankrolls (they give you free money to play at some sites) and I have managed to build it up a bit to be able to play more. If I can get back into a groove with it then perhaps the winnings could become my photography fund – lenses ain’t cheap! Last time I played poker online regularly, the winnings became my car stereo fund. I always seem to play better (ie, less stupid) when I have a goal in mind. Worse comes to worst, I have played a little poker with some free money.
Now, onto the cookies! With my previous attempt not being a complete failure, I decided to give baking cookies another crack. I think I did better this time, if not completely how I wanted them to turn out. For this attempt I decided to have a go at chocolate chip cookies – big, fat, chewy chocolate chip cookies to be exact! The only real obstacle in the planning process was finding the chocolate chips; a key ingredient I suppose. I ended up having to buy three little bags of chips in order to reach the required 2 cups in the recipe. Other than that, all went well and we are really enjoying the spoils of my labour – even if they are a bit large. If you look at the pictures you will see that six cookies take up the entire cookie sheet – granted it isn’t the largest cookie sheet in the world, but it isn’t tiny either. The way I look at it is that you have one cookie for a snack instead of the usual two. You just can’t dip them in your milk. The recipe is definitely one to repeat.
I will be back tomorrow with an update on the BBQ that I have found and am growing extremely fond of – maybe unhealthily so? I would post about it today but I found an image that will be perfect for a post banner and so will hold off tomorrow. Hopefully, it will give me an excuse to stop playing poker for a bit.
