Pancake Tuesday!
I don’t know who started it, but it is a great idea! Officially today is Shrove Tuesday, but it is more well known as Pancake Day here. Why? Because you eat pancakes on it! Wanting to blend in and adopt the local customs, we decided that this was a tradition we could sink our teeth into. I normally don’t eat breakfast, and Cindy usually has it before I am awake, and so we decided that we would celebrate at dinner time. Nothing like breakfast food for dinner. There was only one choice of syrup at the grocery stores (no maple or Aunt Jemima) but the golden syrup was yummy. The batch ended up making 12 pancakes and there wasn’t any leftovers – eek! We decided to take a walk afterward in order to balance it out a bit.
I will be back tomorrow with another quick post, but the Inter Milan vs Manchester United UEFA Champions League football game has just started. I guess I am becoming more of a Brit every day. Below are a couple of pics – they weren’t pretty but they were tasty.
