We Have a Code Red!
Once again, sorry for no post in the last little bit but, as you may have noticed, there have been a few small changes around here. I thought about doing an overhaul of the site but didn’t think it would happen this soon. I’ve been working on a site for someone else at bdubracing.com and the bug bit me. Next thing I knew I was coding two pages at once. I really liked the magazine-style layout I was doing for the other website and thought it would work perfectly for my own. It went surprisingly fast as well – I started this yesterday morning and it was up an running last night.
This layout is requiring a lot more work on my behalf though; the last one was plug-and-play where I just selected the theme and moved some boxes around. With this layout I am having to do a lot of custom work to remove things I don’t want and to properly add some of the old features, requiring me to get into the actual PHP and CSS coding. Without training or much prior experience there is a steep learning curve and a lot “let’s change this piece of coding to see what it does. nope don’t like that, let’s change it back.” Also, some of the old features have conflicts with some of the new ones and so there have been a couple of functionality changes, but I am working on those. You may notice that there are some things not laid out properly yet, but I will get to them in due time. I think they are all small things now, but if you notice anything big not working properly please let me know ASAP.

I really like the new site design. The scrolling at the top is a little fast though if you don’t read real good.
How about a recipe section?
Thanks bud. I thought that the top stories rotated pretty fast as well, but they are just a sample of what can be found later in the site. I think I will try to see if I can slow them down just a bit though.
Oh, and check under the food menu for Recipes. If I have included one in a post then it will be in that drop-down.
There we go – you now have more than twice as long to read the featured stories scrolling at the top. Hope that is enough time for ya old man. All joking aside, I think it is much better this way as well. Thanks for the tip.
