Drive For Show, Putt For Dough

putting As the saying goes, you drive for show and putt for dough. If that is the case then I didn’t show a thing today and I certainly came away broke. However, I did come away with a fabulous day on the golf course with friends. The sun was shining, it was 24 degrees and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky as we teed off at Copperdale Golf Course this long weekend. I don’t think it could have been better golfing weather – perfect for my first time out this year. And boy did it ever show. My shots off the tee on the front nine were pretty good and my middle irons were on fire as I could do no wrong with my 4,5,6 or 7 irons. I wish I could say the same for the putter though. Man, it was ugly once I was on the dance floor, with a 3-putt not being out of the ordinary. Then came the back nine where the putter continued the trend but then my tee shots went away as well. Let’s just say my score broke the century mark and I didn’t even care to find out by how much. Even still, I had a great time and forgot how much I enjoyed spending the day on the golf course. Since we had carts this time around I brought the camera along since it has been neglected recently. It had a good time out of the house as well as seen by the pictures it took:

You may have also noticed that it has been over a month since I last posted. I can’t believe I have left it this long and don’t know why I have as it isn’t as though there isn’t anything to write about. New job, new car, training for my first 5K (you can see my training log on the right sidebar here on caringforapthy.com) and getting in better shape. I will try to not leave it nearly as long and will get back to updating regularly again.
